Mary Moseley

Mary Moseley, daughter of the late Al J. Schneider, founder and owner of the Al J. Schneider Company, took over as President upon her father’s death in 2001. Moseley runs the company with help from her three sisters, Christie Coe, Dawn Hitron and Nancy O’Hearn.

Al J. Schneider Company is an umbrella organization running Louisville hotels, office buildings and a home building supply company. The company’s holdings include: the Galt House Hotel & Suites, Executive Inn, Executive West, Home Supply Lumber, Waterfront Plaza and One Riverfront Plaza.

Moseley went to Murray State University for two years and then transferred to the University of Louisville where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts & Sciences. In 1972, Mary married Sam Moseley and the two started Moseley Photography & Commercial Color Lab in Louisville. She retired from working at the store in the late 90’s and was asked by her father to help him with the company.

“He did not want to let go of the business completely,” said Moseley. “If he had, I think he would have died sooner than he did. The business kept him alive because it was his hobby and his love as much as his work.”

Moseley was the 2005 recipient of the prestigious “Silver Fleur-De-Lis” award which goes to community and business leaders for their special achievements over the past year from Greater Louisville, Inc. She was recognized for her company’s $60 million renovation project at the Galt House Hotel & Suites.

Moseley is on the Advisory Board of Young Professionals of Louisville, Norton’s Hospital, Leadership of Louisville, Boy Scouts of America, BB&T Advisory Board, Louisville Convention & Visitors Bureau, Fund of the Arts and Home of the Innocents Ethics Committee. Other community boards Moseley has served on include: Bank of Louisville, Home of the Innocents and Cathedral Heritage Foundation.

In addition, Moseley supports numerous charities including: National FFA, Nation Federation of the Blind, Disabled Jockey Endowment Fund, Special Olympics, Dreams with Wings for Special Needs Adults, Center for Women & Families, Derby Festival, Boy Scouts of America and Youth Alive.

Mary Moseley has a daughter, Nicole Moseley and a son, Shane Moseley.
