Elaine M. Musselman
Elaine “Cissy” Musselman is Vice Chair of Risk Management Services Corporation (RMSC) of Louisville, where she organizes, structures, and administers self-insured plans and affinity programs for businesses, associations, and governmental entities. RMSC is listed among the 2004 INC 500 America’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies. RMSC also received the High Impact Award from Greater Louisville, Inc. in 2005 and the 2005 Business First Fast Fifty Award.
Musselman began her professional career in the Government Relations Office of Bristol-Myers Company in Washington, D.C. She returned to her Louisville home in 1973 to become Vice President of Harris & Co., a local insurance business, where she ultimately rose to the position of President.
In 1984, Musselman became Senior Vice President of Alexander & Alexander and in 1988 she formed Connor, Musselman & Calvert, a general lines firm. In 1991 she joined Neace, Musselman & Mayfield as President. That firm grew to over $60 million in revenue and recognition by Business First as one of its “1998 Metro Top 100” companies.
In 1992, Musselman became the first insurance broker in the United States to be computer-linked with the floor of Lloyd’s of London. The computerized access, London Insurance Market Network (LIMNET), allows instantaneous trans-Atlantic quotations and claims processing.
Musselman is Founder of Women 4 Women, Inc., a non-profit organization whose mission is to raise money and public awareness for programs serving women and girls. Women 4 Women has become one of the most respected women’s golf tournaments and festivals in the country donating more than $3,000,000 for women’s causes.
Musselman chaired Benchmark 2000, a project dedicated to the challenge of mobilizing public and private resources to most effectively identify and meet the priority needs of women and girls in her community at the millennium. In 2002 it was adopted as the agenda for the Louisville Metro Government Office for Women.
Her career has garnered numerous awards including:
